The Rand continues to gain strength against the Dollar adding downward pressure on South African maize prices but it’s been the strength in U.S. Corn prices that has added support to falling prices. U.S. corn prices rallied significantly over the past two sessions closing all previous losses that occurred at the release of the March planted acreage report. Buying spill over to corn came from higher soybean prices after China showed significant amount of soybeans imported as well as harvesting delays in Argentina from current rains received.
