South Africa imported a total of 55,705t of maize, for the week ending April 29^th – final activity for the 2015/2016 marketing year, of which 9,287t were white maize imported from the U.S. whilst 46,419t of yellow maize were imported from Argentina.  South African exported 16,078t of maize for the same week ending with 11,300t being white maize and 4,778t yellow maize.  South Africa’s cumulative maize imports for the 2015/2016 marketing starting May and ending April tally to 1.96mil t as shown in the graph below
