South African maize exports for the week ending January 15th came in at 17,250t and vs the 10 week average of 14,253t. White maize exports made up 82.44% or 14,221t whilst yellow maize made up 17.56% or 3,029t. The biggest buyers of white maize were Botswana and Namibia taking a total of 9,090t. Traders are however more concerned about the current maize imports. South African maize imports for the same week ending came in at 17,554t, all yellow maize, purchased from Brazil and delivered at Cape Town harbour. No imports were seen at Durban, East London or Port Elizabeth.
